What I Hate

Argh! I hate it when I do things wrong. I have no good reason, no explanation, and I beat myself up for it again and again. It is really hard to get over moral failure. Even if the moral failure is laziness or selfishness or pride. I don’t like accepting forgiveness. The fear of consequences has nothing to do with it. The destruction and distraction sin causes is what I hate.

To God be all glory.

Sounds like a big Romans 7 to me! And I completely agree. Sometimes I wish I would just STOP!!!

(BTW, I noticed that you read an Alex McFarland book-- my mother is his assistant. Small world!)

I did notice sounding a bit like Romans 7. And it is absolutely how I felt. Paul's resolution is exciting, but not all that... satisfying.

"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."

Yeah, our high school girls small group went through the ten chapters of Mr. McFarland's book. It stood out as relevant in a bookstore full of lighter titles. Plus, you know the rage that black books with red decorations and white letters are!
